StoreSleuth Chrome Extension - Last updated: April 12, 2026

The short version: StoreSleuth analyzes publicly available information on web pages. All analysis happens locally in your browser. We don't collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

What StoreSleuth Does

StoreSleuth is a Chrome extension that detects and analyzes WooCommerce-powered online stores. When you visit a web page, StoreSleuth checks whether it is powered by WooCommerce. If a WooCommerce store is detected, it reads the page's public HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to identify the store's theme, plugins, payment gateways, and other technical details.

Data We Collect

Data We Do NOT Collect

No External Servers

StoreSleuth does not operate any backend servers. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting. The extension runs completely in your browser. We have no way to see what sites you visit or what analysis results you get.

Third-Party Services

ExtensionPay (Stripe) - If you choose to subscribe to StoreSleuth Pro, payment processing is handled by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe as its payment processor. When you initiate a purchase, you interact directly with their payment page. We do not see, process, or store your payment card details. Stripe's and ExtensionPay's own privacy policies apply to that transaction.

Permissions Explained

StoreSleuth requests no host permissions. A lightweight content script checks each page for WooCommerce indicators by reading publicly visible HTML - no data is modified or transmitted.

Data Retention

Children's Privacy

StoreSleuth is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date. For significant changes, we'll also update the extension's changelog.
